The Bench Maji Development Association is a non-governmental and independent indigenous humanitarian organization organized by the community of the zone to fill the gaps in development that are not covered by the government Thus, in the past 26 years, in the past 26 years, in former Bench Maji Zone Health Center, health checkpoint, primary and secondary schools, as well as the construction of alternative basic schools, road, water and youth job creation, by shaping more than 170 projects, finding and coordinating the members of the organization, and contributing to the society, he has gained an interest in the public. It is an organized public resource. Today, the development association has started the special gifted boarding school self-help project, which is believed to improve the human resources of the zone, in the current fiscal year, and recruited 53 students who have the best talent from all structures of the zone, who have passed from the 8th grade to the 9th grade, and provided the necessary food, lodging and education materials. He is teaching in Tark, the first boarding school in the zone and development association.ca
Vision
BMDA envisions that economic and social problems of the people of the zone that have not been tackled by the government are addressed and sustainable development attained by 2025.
Mission
Mobilize talents and resources of its members to create sustainable development, accessible basic services and bridging gaps through community involvement, capacity building and partnership for the achievement of organizational excellence and outstanding leadership.

Major Achievements of BMDA
Since its establishment in 1997 G.C., BMDA has implemented more than 170 projects that have addressed development and social problems of the Bench Maji Zone community.
These achievements have been recorded through self-help efforts of BMDA and grants made available by various donors. Members have also played pivotal role in contributing to self-help projects in kind and in cash. Hence, the achievements of BMDA in winning members; and some of the major donors and projects that have been implemented over many years are briefly presented as follows.
